Optimum Nutrition

Nutrition is what fuels the body, so obviously when it comes to sport and performance, food is vitally important. I cannot stress enough that the best way to fuel your body is with real food, but sometimes it proves difficult to get all of the necessary nutrients into the body from food alone on a daily basis (athletes find this especially difficult)…and so, in comes supplementation.

I have been using Optimum Nutrition products since 2010 alongside eating a clean and healthy diet to ensure maximum performance and recovery after my training. I have been sponsored by Optimum Nutrition since 2011 and am proud to still represent and endorse one of the world’s leading companies in sports nutrition :)

My favourite products are:

100% Gold Standard Whey Protein: whey-gs-2lb-delstrawberry_4

Rather than eating a chicken breast after training, I prefer to take a scoop of 100% whey, mixed with water straight away after most of my sessions – especially after tough lifting/gym sessions where I’m working my muscles hard! Sometimes I’d have a shake during the day as a snack as well. The Chocolate Peanut Butter, Mint Chocolate and French Vanilla Crème are my favourite flavours…throw a few ice cubes in and it’s deelish!

Gold Standard Pre-Workoutpre-tub-new-flash350x370_3_
1 scoop (1 serving) of this product mixed with water is only 35 calories and contains 175mg caffeine from natural sources, B vitamins, 3g creatine and 1.75g of Beta-alanine, an amino acid which helps to keep you going for longer! I take it approx 20 mins before my session and throughout my warm up so that I get an energy boost during my session! All flavours taste unreal 😀
